Thriller Opening Scene Planning

Basic Story line- For my opening scene, I thought of a simple plot than would enable me to really experiment with the camera, and explore lots of detail within mise en scene. I would like the camera to open with a shot of an old abandoned location with a man living there whilst fading the opening titles in and out as well as establishing the location. He is the focus of my opening scene and it basically shows him waking up and living in these appalling conditions. It will end with me using a large torch to create the effect of car headlights like someone is coming, and his reaction will shows hat he isn't a person he wanted to see effectively building tension with the unknown character. The opening scene will then end with a cut to the title of the film in a large bold font.
